Small classes...individual attention...effective fitness tuition
We are Annaliese and Bryony and we run and own the pilates space. Our Studio is the culmination of many years of training and working within the community. As sisters we share genes and a genuine passion for helping our clients to find a way to improve their functional fitness.
We are both Mums and share many of our client's struggles to balance work and family commitments but we know that if our bodies are physically strong and fit life is much easier.
We do not believe in punishing fitness regimes, we want you to come to class week in, week out and all year round to develop a strong and healthy body for life. We share a wealth of experience across many areas including osteoporosis, back care and post op rehab for backs and hips. We are qualified post and antenatal Pilates teachers. At the other end of the movement spectrum we have also worked with triathletes and sportsmen and women to improve technique and reduce the impact of demanding sporting endeavours on their bodies.
Bryony is a qualified sports massage therapist.
We will always advise you as to which class is best for you and your goals
Pilates has long been described as the "thinking person's" exercise. The amount you invest in the technique, like everything, correlates directly with its impact on your body. You will see the best results if you take what you learn with you and use it in your daily life.
Pilates is famed for it's development of your "core" your "centre" your "powerhouse" but it is so much more. The founder of the technique, Joseph Pilates, taught us to look at the body as a whole. We are mad about posture, obsessed with feet, focused on your gluts (in a pc way of course) and will teach you how the positioning and alignment of your body impacts how you move and relates directly to how you use your abdominals.
Improvement takes time, permanent change, even longer. We don't make promises, it's down to you. If you come to us with specific goals we will do our best to help you achieve them but you have to do the work. Pilates is a lifetime, lifelong, learning commitment and if you want to be healthy and active throughout your lifetime commit...come to class every week, come rain or shine because we would love to share our passion with YOU.
At the pilates space we genuinely care about our client's health and wellbeing. We want your classes to be effective and give you what you need. Whether you are looking to manage back pain, improve sporting performance, improve mobility, re-find your pre-baby self or just simply offset the impact of a desk bound job, our teachers plan their classes with you in mind.
We are extremely proud of the quality of our teaching staff at the pilates space. Our teachers have all completed comprehensive training programmes and bring their own unique approach and interests into their classes.
At the pilates space we understand that fitness isn't just about the body itself and we take a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. We run regular courses in mindfulness and meditation and self-care workshops using essential oils. If there is something our clients need we try to provide it, often taking the opportunity to learn alongside them with guest practitioners.
